IP Blocking
Find out about IP blocking, what it indicates and how and when it’s best to use it.
One of the most effective ways to limit the access to your Internet site is to block the IP addresses of individuals that must not be able to open it. There are several good reasons to do this. For example, you may want a certain individual not to be able to see your Internet site, or you may limit the access for an entire country. You can even block IP addresses if you detect that there are way too many Internet browser requests from them, if a lot of spam comments are left in your Internet sites or if a script login page has been loaded numerous times. In all of these scenarios, the traffic is almost certainly fake and has been generated by an automatic bot, so you may safely block any shady IP address, in order to be on the safe side. Thus, you will also stay away from the prospect of your hosting server getting overloaded by too many fake requests.

IP Blocking in Website Hosting
If you order a
website hosting from our company, you will be able to see in depth traffic statistics for all your Internet sites and if you notice that a lot of the visits to any of them are not legitimate, you are able to block the IP addresses that have generated the most traffic using our IP Blocking tool. The interface is quite simple - choose the needed domain or subdomain from a drop-down list, then type in the IP address that you want to block and save the change. All the addresses that you've blacklisted will appear in the same exact section of the Control Panel, so you're able to always remove any one of them and permit it to access your Internet site again. You could block entire IP ranges using the tool also - you just have to leave 1 or 2 octets from the address blank. As an example, entering 1.2.3. will block all 254 IPs from 1.2.3.1 to 1.2.3.255.
